My wife and I recently tried to make an appointment for our 2 year old daughter. We both work full time so both tried to call from 8am onwards due to the difficulty getting through. I finally managed to get through after 55 minutes on hold and was informed a doctor would call me back. I asked them to call my wife as she was more likely able to answer her phone. She was called back by a male doctor who will remain unnamed. The doctor asked her to bring my daughter to the surgery immediately. My wife explained that due to the type of work we do, we cannot just up sticks and leave work without giving some notice. The doctor was rude, abrupt and unhelpful, leaving my wife in tears. She was told to turn up at Delapre Medical Centre after 4.30pm where they hoped to fit her in. I went in my wifes place as she was still quite upset about the manner in which she was spoken to by the doctor. When I was seen by the same doctor, I was appalled at the manner in which he spoke to me. He was rude, obnoxious and arrogant throughout the appointment and showed me absolutely no respect, was dismissive of my questions about my daughters illness and made me feel very uncomfortable. I am in the process of making a formal complaint and will be strongly requesting a formal apology to both my wife and I. I move to this area of town 5 years ago and have not been impressed with this surgery since. Failures to follow up on referrals, being struck off from their records through no fault of our own and the huge difficulty trying to get an appointment just makes this surgery a complete let down. My advice, Go somewhere else!!

Impossible to get through on the phone in the mornings. Admittedly, they have many people calling in the morning, but a ‘busy tone’ (not even an answer machine) from 8am to 10:05am is ludicrous (and this seems to be the norm, not an exception). Then, at 10:05am, I managed to get through to the answer machine in order to wait a further 20 minutes, simply to request a callback from my GP. I was then told that, because it was a follow-up to a previous appointment and not a new problem, I would have to wait a further 10 days for a callback (not a face-to-face appointment, no, a callback!).

this place is a nightmare told by the receptionists to ring in morning at 8am even if you get through first you are left in a queue.the receptionists really think they are. something special how wrong they are rude and unhelpful. the process of trying to get a prescription is a joke,handed a request in on a Wednesday went to get it on a Monday told to come back Tuesday went back prescription not signed went back next day got prescription took to chemist only one item prescribed had to go back Friday to get the rest what a joke all stemming from the reception.sack them and get someone there who cares about there job and not think there a cut above the rest

Previous experiences of this surgery (reception staff and doctors) have been very positive, however I'm nearly at a loss for words regarding my most recent experience. Following a consultation, a GP mistakenly failed to make the agreed surgery referral (mistakes do happen). Chasing this matter up, however, has been a nightmare. I've called 4 times now, been told to expect call back that never came twice, and now told my a receptionist (after waiting 20mins on the phone) that she, as a receptionist, has "physically no way of leaving a message for the admin department" to prompt them to make the return call to me that I have been repeatedly promised (after my repeated suggestion she unconvincingly agreed to leave a physical note). The initial mistake I can forgive, but my referral for surgery is now being delayed further by weeks by seemly incompetent and unhelpful reception staff.
